"We didn't lose him just on that day, we're losing him every day and we just have memories. He’d make coffee for me every morning and I think of him every night before I go to sleep," she said.
The fiancée of a Bolt driver, Gabriel Bringye, who was stabbed to death in Tottenham after being randomly selected to pick up his killers two years ago, Mara Fazecas, has expressed the pain she still goes through to date.
Gabriel was stabbed dead on Jarrow Road in Tottenham on February 17 2021.
He was found in his car at around 7.20 pm and pronounced dead at the scene 40 minutes later. The Romanian national had been due to get married later that year.
Three teenagers were found guilty of manslaughter over his death.
Mara told MyLondon on Friday, Feb. 17 at the vigil held to mark two years since the 37-year-old died that it’s been “very hard” since Gabriel passed and thinks the family “will never recover”.
The news medium also spoke with Gabriel’s sister, Renata, who spoke in the same vein.
“We didn’t lose him just on that day, we’re losing him every day and we just have memories. He’d make coffee for me every morning and I think of him every night before I go to sleep,” she said.
Mara added: “Gabriel’s sister really pushes me to have my own life but it’s hard because I still love him. I still feel like he’s my fiancé and even if someone asked me to go for a coffee I’d feel like I was cheating.” The 38-year-old also calls for tougher sentences for those carrying knives because when someone is caught they do almost nothing to them”.
She added: “They should give maybe five years jail for just having a knife. And then I’m sure knife crime would be lower, or even give so much punishment people would be afraid to carry them.”
