The All Progressives Congress, APC has won three House of Representatives seats as declaration of results of the presidential and national assembly elections conducted in Ogun state on Saturday continue.
APC candidate, Adegbesan Joseph won the Ijebu-North/East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency to unseat Segun Adekoya who is currently the member representing the area in the Green chamber.
Adekoya, popularly known as “Attacker” contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He is the currently Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives.
Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Adeyemi Bamgbose said, Adekoya polled 25,450 votes while the APC candidate garnered 35,708 votes.
Also, a three-time gubernatorial candidate in Ogun, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) won the Egbado North and Imeko-Afon Federal constituency election.
GNI was the governorship candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) in 2011, PDP in 2015 and African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2019.
He was declared winner of the House of Representatives election on Sunday at the collation center in Omidokun Hall, Ayetoro, in Egabdo North Local Government Area.
The Returning Officer, Professor Idowu Adeosun, announced that Isiaka scored 29,543 votes while his closest rival, Olusoji Titus Eweje of PDP who polled 17,760 votes.
APC was also victorious in Abeokuta South Federal Constituency as the party’s candidate who is also the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy in Ogun Afolabi Afuape defeated Toyin Amuzu of PDP by 19,891 to 13,663 respectively.
The result was announced by Prof Oladele Talabi.
