Ginger Onwusibe wins Rep seat for Labour Party in Abia

Mr. Ginger Onwusibe of Labour Party has been declared the House of Representatives member elect for Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency of Abia State.
Ginger defeated his main challenger and the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Professor Anthony Agbazuere.
Ginger was a former PDP member of Abia House of Assembly.
He scored 20,411 votes to emerge victorious in the House of Representatives election and thus, becoming the first member of Labour Party to be official declared a winner a national assembly seat in the 2023 election.
His PDP opponent who was a chief of staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu polled 13508 votes.
According to reports, the Labour Party candidate defeated Agbazuere even in his Isialangwa South L.G.A.
Ginger had left the PDP following the controversies which trailed the party primary to join the Labour Party.
