Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Ireti Kingibe, the candidate of Labour Party (LP) has ended the long stay in the National Assembly of Senator Philip Aduda as the representative of the Federal Capital Territory.

Aduda, who started his political career in 1996 as a councilor was first elected to the National Assembly as Member of the House of Representatives for AMAC/Bwari in Abuja in 2003.

He was re-elected to the Green chamber in 2008.

He, however, crossed to the senate, contested and won the senatorial seat for the FCT in 2011. He was reelected as the senator representing the FCT in 2015 and 2019.

However, Aduda on Tuesday become one of the lawmakers swept away by hurricane Labour Party which has already kicked many of his colleagues, especially from the Southeast part of the country out of the two chambers of National Assembly.

Aduda, who is the Senate Minority Whip like his Southeast colleagues lost his bid to return to the National Assembly to Labour Party.

He was massively defeated by Ireti of Labour Party in last Saturday’s national assembly election.
