Kwankwaso trounces Tinubu, Atiku to win Kano by landslide

Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso has won Kano State with a landslide in Saturday’s presidential election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) collation officer for the presidential election in Kano, Lawal Suleiman, declared Kwankwaso winner of the poll.
The NNPP’s presidential candidate polled 997,279 votes to defeat Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 517,341 votes.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 131,716 votes to come third in the election.
Also, Peter Obi of the Labour Party got 28,513 to come a distant fourth position.
Kwankwaso won in 38 of the 44 Local Governments in Kano, while Tinubu won the remaining six Local Governments.
