The candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Ogun Central senatorial district in last Saturday’s election, Olumide Aderinokun has rejected the result of the poll as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Aderinokun who came second in the election alleged that the poll was marred by over-voting and discrepancies that made the results not credible.

He noted that the election there were incidents of over voting across 100 polling units where the election was conducted.

Aderinokun, who spoke through his media aide Taiye Taiwo described the outcome of the election as a robbery and theft of the mandate of the people of the senatorial district.

“The good people of Ogun Central have been robbed. The system failed the people and Chief Aderinokun with the backing of the PDP family in Ogun State will not be accepting the results tendered by INEC,” he said.

“The result will be challenged because it doesn’t reflect the will of the people in Ogun Central. There were many instances of over-voting, poor network for the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) to work effectively, delayed uploading of results and there were inconsistencies with numbers of voters and the results.

“The process was rigged, and we won’t fold our hands to be cheated. We are heading to the election tribunal, and we encourage the people to be watchful and desist from acts capable of instigating violence,” he said.

INEC late on Sunday announced that Aderinokun polled 52,940 votes while APC’s Salisu got 96,769 votes with Labour Party’s Collins Abayomi in third position with 27,884 votes.
