Echocho is the incumbent senator for Kogi East Senatorial district in the National Assembly.

Sen. Jibrin Echocho of All Progressives Congress, APC has defeated Victor Adoji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to be re-elected as the senator representing Kogi East in the national assembly.
According to results declared by INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Musa Ibrahim, in Idah, the headquarters of Kogi East Senatorial district, Echocho scored 108,784 votes to defeat Adoji who garnered 81,867 votes.
Echocho is the incumbent senator for Kogi East Senatorial district in the National Assembly.
