The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has described conduct of last Saturday’s presidential election as the worst in the history of Nigeria.
Atiku vowed to go to court to challenge the outcome of the presidential poll, which he believed was rigged in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former vice president, in a live press conference on Channels on Thursday evening, said the outcome of the election was a rape on democracy.
According to him, having concluded with leaders of the party and in view of the fact that the processes of the election were grossly flawed, he would go to court to challenge the outcome.
He said his position that the election was flawed was also attested to by both local and international observers.
Atiku stated that it was not too late for President Muhammadu Buhari to make amend and do the right thing now, saying what happened in Nigeria last weekend was about the future of the youths.
“It is a continuation of my struggle for democracy and the future of our youths. I assure you that I will commit the rest of my life to entrenchment of democracy.
“Nigeria represents the hope of Africa and the world, it is my hope the judiciary will rise to their work this time. I call on all men and women of good will to join hands with us to defend the constitution.
“Nigerians should remain vigilant and resolute, we will not sit idly by and watch your right taken from you, your voices will be heard,” he said.
