Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for winning last Saturday’s presidential poll.

Zelenskyy, in a tweet, on Friday said he looked forward to close cooperation with the incoming new government in Nigeria.

He said he was convinced that bilateral interaction would be strengthened and that he was ready to work together with Nigeria to overcome global challenges, including threats to food security.

The Ukrainian president wrote: “Congratulations to@officialABAT on winning the Nigerian presidential election.

“I look forward to close cooperation. I’m convinced that bilateral interaction will be strengthened. is ready to work together to overcome global challenges, including threats to food security!”

Tinubu was declared winner of last Saturday’s presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu declared Tinubu winner of the election early Wednesday, having satisfied the conditions of the electoral act.

In the declared result, Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Atiku scored 6,984,520 votes to come second, while Obi came third, garnering 6,101,533 votes to come third.

Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 1,496,687 votes to come fourth in the presidential election.
