Governor Dapo Abiodun of All Progressives Congress, APC narrowly defeated his Ladi Adebutu of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at his polling unit at the Ogun governorship election conducted on Saturday.

Governor Abiodun defeated the PDP candidate by five votes in his polling unit scoring 147 votes to Adebutu’s 142 votes.

However, the Governor was defeated at the polling unit of Dimeji Bankole, the former Speaker of House of Representatives who voted at PU 6, Ward 10, Sodeke/Isale-Ijeun I, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state.

The former Speaker who was among the APC leaders who championed Abiodun’s re-election campaign in different parts of Ogun State could not deliver his polling unit to the Governor.

PDP’s Ladi Adebutu polled 77 votes at Bankole’s polling unit to defeat Abiodun who scored 65 votes.

Biyi Otegbeye of African Democratic Congress, ADC had 26 Votes.
