Mr Charles Nwoji, Anambra State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), has appealed to the electorate in the state to be very civil during the elections into the Anambra State House of Assembly on March 18.
He said that the rescheduled March 18, 2023, election has been described as one project Nigerians should hold as a mission very important to positively change the political narratives of the country by casting their votes wisely.
Nwoji made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Thursday.
He disclosed that the agency has toured over 180 communities in the state for voter education and sensitisation of the electorate on the right voting process and conduct for a successful election.
“The main goal of the advocacy visit was to reason with leaders of various groups for them to urge their subjects to come out en masse to cast their votes for their desired candidates on Saturday,” he said.
Nwoji said that the leaders needed to talk to their people and let them understand that they have the power to change the ugly situations in the country through their votes, and not killing each other.
He urged the leaders to persuade their subjects and their family members to shun all forms of violence as they go out to cast their votes on election day.
Nwoji urged the electorate not to resort to bloodletting as no election is worth their blood.
He encouraged voters in the state to ensure that they partake actively in the Anambra House of Assembly Election on Saturday.
