Abba Kabir, the candidate of New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) was declared winner of last Saturday’s Kano governorship election amidst rancor by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

This was after he received results from the 44 local government areas in the state.

But agents of NNPP had the two-hour break with allegations that it might be a ploy to compromise the results.

But Doko insisted that he must be allowed to carefully cross-check incidents of violence and over-voting reported during the election as stipulated in the Electoral Act 2022 before he can declare the winner.

He declared NNPP the winner of the election after he came back to the collation centre.
