Breaking: INEC declares PDP’s Agbu winner of Taraba governorship election

Agbu polled 257,926 votes to defeat Muhammad Sani Yahaya of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), who scored 202,277 votes to come second.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Kefas Agbu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of Taraba State Governorship election held at the weekend.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Prof. Muhammed Ahmed Abdulazeez declared Agbu winner of the election early Tuesday morning in Jalingo, having polled majority of the votes and satisfied the provisions of the law.

Agbu polled 257,926 votes to defeat Muhammad Sani Yahaya of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), who scored 202,277 votes to come second.

Emmanuel Bwacha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) got 142,502 votes to come third in the election.

Joel Danlami Ikenya of the Labour Party garnered 3,245 votes to come fourth in the election.

Agbu will now replace Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of the PDP on 29 May, 2023 as the next governor of the state.
