Nigeria’s president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has flown out to France ahead his swearing in as president of Nigeria in May.

Tinubu will spend some weeks in France to engage foreign investors as he prepares for his inauguration.

The president-elect, sources revealed, left the shore of Nigeria on Tuesday and landed in France around 4.00am on Wednesday.

Contrary to report that he travelled to Europe for medical issue, PM NEWS reports that this is completely false as Tinubu is hail and hearty.

Sources also said part of the travel was to get out of sight from pressure from politicians seeking appointment into his cabinet and other juicy places in government.

Before he traveled out to France, he was said to have met with top Yoruba leaders, including former Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande.

It was also gathered that Tinubu’s trip to France would enable him share quality time with his team in studying how his government would be able to address issues of insecurity, revamp the economy, engage younger people, and also restore unity in the country.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on March 1, 2023 declared Tinubu winner of the 2023 presidential election held on February 25.

In the declared result, Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Atiku scored 6,984,520 votes to come second, while Obi came third, garnering 6,101,533 votes to come third.

Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) got 1,496,687 votes to come fourth in the presidential election.

Tinubu, a Nigerian accountant and politician, was born 29 March, 1952. He served as governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 and senator for Lagos West during the brief Third Republic.
