He said the Igbo had invested so much in Nigeria and that they were not going to yield to pressure of people asking them to leave.

Iwuanyanwu stated that there is no war between the Igbo in Lagos and the Yoruba, but that the Yoruba were just political rascals and would be handled.

“Nobody has the right to take the life of any innocent Igbo person, all of us are going to fight the battle, we are going to face the person, never again, we are in Nigeria and have invested in Nigeria.

“Our investments are too much, we are not going to take the pressure of people asking us to go, we are not going anywhere.

“And I want to tell those in Lagos to realise that there is no war between us and Yoruba, Yoruba are just political rascals and we are going to handle them,” he said in the video.

Iwuanyanwu’s comment is coming at a time Nigerians are calling for healing and forgiveness so that the nation can move forward.

The 2023 general elections have further divided Nigerians into ethnicity and hatred as the ember of tribalism is being fanned.

A twitter user, Ibrahim Ademola, who shared the video said “Are Yorubas “Politically Rascal” to be handled? To be rascal means that such a tribe is mischievous. Chief Iwuanyawu was directing this message to the Yoruba tribe today. This is not too good from a person who called himself an elder in his region. Just listen. Caution & Peace.

“At this period Nigeria only need peace, peace and peace. Nigeria remains one indivisible Nation irrespective of any tribe or ethnic group, we should just caution ourselves from calling anybody any name. Let’s think of how we can move the country forward irrespective of our tribes.”
