President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in Dr. Solomon Arase, a former Inspector-General of Police, as the new chairman of the Service Commission.

Arase took his oath of office on Wednesday morning in the council chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This comes two months after the Senate confirmed him as PSC chairperson.

Buhari had forwarded Arase’s name to the Senate in January, asking the upper legislative chamber to confirm him in accordance with sections 153 (1) and 154 (1) of the amended constitution.
