Governor Aminu Masari has approved the establishment of a “high-powered” transition committee to ensure a smooth transition to the state’s new administration.

After winning the election, Dikko Radda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will become the next governor of Katsina State.

Muntari Lawal, Secretary to the Katsina State Government, will chair the 40-member committee, with Usman Isiyaku, Permanent Secretary, Administration, and Office of the State’s Head of Civil Service, serving as secretary.

Masari also approved the formation of a 43-member inauguration committee, with Musa Funtua, the Commissioner for Water Resources, serving as chairman and Hannatu Musawa as secretary.

Both committees would operate under specific guidelines.

The terms include identifying and adequately preparing the venue for the swearing-in of their governor-elect and deputy governor-elect, as well as arranging and catering for security and required logistics.

Others are to prepare a list of important dignitaries to be invited to grace the occasion; identify and arrange suitable accommodation for the invited dignitaries; produce and distribute the event’s programme and invitations; and co-opt any other person(s) to assist the committee.

Among those on the committee are the director, the media and publicity committee of the Katsina State APC Campaign Council, and Ahmed Abdulkadir.
