Man disrupts aircraft, says Tinubu must not be sworn in as president

A yet-to-be-identified man believed to be one of the obi-dients (supporters of Peter Obi) was on Friday evening carried off an Abuja to Lagos flight.

The man was said to have announced that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, must never be sworn in as President on May 29.

In the video obtained by our correspondent, it took the efforts of no fewer than six airport security officers to evacuate him after holding up the aircraft for more than an hour, as the 6 pm flight had yet to move as of 7 pm.

In the video, the man could be heard shouting, as he was being carried off the aisle, “Obidients you’re here. They are doing this to me. Obidients you’re here, I am naked. Obidients you’re here, I am going naked.”

However, no one could come near as officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and Ibom Air surrounded him.

Reacting to the development, Festus Keyamo asked Peter Obi to condemn the action of the man evacuated from the Abuja-Lagos flight.

Keyamo said: “One emotionally and mentally dysfunctional ‘OBIdient’ who carried his ‘Tinubu-must-not-be-sworn-in’ campaign to a local flight yesterday and was forcefully deboarded when he became disruptive, has just seen the difference between causing trouble in real life and mobilising the headless mob on social media for likes and retweets. And it is important that since this dangerous action amounting to public nuisance was carried out in supposed support of one of the Presidential candidates, that candidate MUST come out to condemn it unreservedly.

“Bola Tinubu has since issued a statement calling on his supporters to tone down the rhetoric and to embrace national healing and reconciliation. We expect no less from the other candidates.”

In another statement, Keyamo fired another shot at Obi.

The minister and a prominent member of Tinubu’s team said: “When you use religion, tribe, and lies to campaign instead of capacity, achievements, and your manifesto, what you raise is not a band of supporters, but a coterie of fanatics, reprobates and anarchists who live in their own bubble and hear and believe only the sound of their voices!”

However, Peter Obi is yet to issue any statement as of the time of filing this report.
