Former US President, Donald Trump has entered the Manhattan courtroom for his arraignment after he was indicted in hush money payments made to an adult film actress in 2016.

Trump was earlier arrested after arriving the Manhattan courthouse where he surrendered himself to the police.

His arraignment has thus began. He is now the first former US President to be arraigned on criminal charges.

Details about the more than 30 charges he is facing will be revealed when the grand jury indictment is unsealed.

The indictment stems from an investigation related to a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to CNN.

Trump’s legal team has said the former president plans challenge the charges. The former president, who has vowed to continue his 2024 bid, is slated to fly back to Florida after the arraignment and speak tonight at Mar-a-Lago.
