Peter Obi, Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the last election in Nigeria says he is being pressured to leave Nigeria in the aftermath of the election.

Obi is challenging the outcome of the presidential election won by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in court, alleging that his mandate was stolen from him.

A leaked audio call between him and the Presiding Bishop, Living Faith Worldwide, David Oyedepo hit the social media recently eliciting lots of comments.

But he took to his twitter handle on Wednesday to say he was being pressured to leave the country.

Obi did not disclose who is pressuring him to leave the country or where the pressure is coming from.

He also denounced the leaked audio call between him and Oyedepo, saying it was fake and doctored.

“These have come and continued to manifest in different ways, such as the malicious accusation of the Minister of Information, Mr Lai Mohammed, the circulation of a fake doctored audio call, and a pressure on me to leave the country.

“Let me reiterate that the audio call being circulated is fake, and at no time throughout the campaign and now did I ever say, think, or even imply that the 2023 election is, or was a religious war,” he said.

He said attempts to manipulate Nigerians was very sad and wicked, saying his legal team had been instructed to take appropriate legal actions against the Peoples Gazette and others.
