This single, through which Asake taps into his roots to celebrate his authenticity and individuality, is coming after the release of Yoga, which came out in January.

However, a remarkable thing about the release of this song is that it was done in a grand style as it also arrived with a lavish music video, which was directed by Edgar Esteves and shot in Los Angeles.

Less than 24 hours after the video was released on YouTube, it has garnered more than 1.3 million views.

Music buffs are indeed excited about this new single by Asake whose music dominated the air waves in 2022.

The artiste who studied Dramatic Arts at the Obafemi Awolowo University has brought some freshness and vibes never before felt on the music scene, what with his use of amapiano and uptempo Afro style subgenres as well as Lagos street slang.

When asked in an interview with Rolling Stone what his music was about, Asake said: “My music talks about life in general. I grew up in a neighborhood that is considered dangerous, a neighborhood where everyone wakes up to hustle for their daily meals. It taught me how to survive in good times and bad times.

“So I draw inspiration from my real life experiences to encourage everyone who thinks their present reality is constant; I want them to always remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
