Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Oyo, Most Rev. Emmanuel Badejo, has urged Nigerians and all other leaders to imitate Christ’s sacrifice.

Badejo gave the advice as Christians in the country celebrate Good Friday.

He encouraged those in positions of authority, especially Christians, to model their love, humility, service, and generosity after that of Jesus.

The Catholic Bishop exhorted Nigerians to constantly aspire to Jesus Christ’s spirit of forgiveness and to coexist in peace and harmony.

“These are the only solution to our world’s problems,” he adds.

According to him, Good Friday should call for sober reflection and repentance for all and sundry.

“On Good Friday, Jesus laid it all down on the cross, He gave up His life, mother and forgiveness for us. He died for all, His sacrifice obtained for us the immeasurable gift of resurrection and salvation so that we can repay such goodness!

“I pray for all, that our pain, sacrifice and stress be greatly rewarded with grace and eternal life. Jesus’ blood will never lose its power over us (Isaiah 53:5),” he said.

Good Friday is the day Christians annually celebrate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary. (NAN
