Biafra secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked the Igbo people to begin to organize themselves for exit from Nigeria over what it described as their unfair treatment by the government.

IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, said this in a statement while reacting to the killing of members by security operatives during a protest by the group in Aba, Abia State.

The IPOB members marched for the release of their detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Powerful noted that while security agents allegedly attacked members of the group during a peaceful protest in Aba, Abia State, they allowed members of the Islamic Shi’ites to protest peacefully twice in Abuja without any molestation.

This, he claimed, indicated that Igbo people are not wanted in Nigeria.

“It is now on record that Ndigbo is not wanted in Nigeria due to the hatred shown to us,” Powerful lamented in the statement.

Consequently, he said Igbo people must organize themselves immediately and exit Nigeria for other nationalities who are allowed to operate freely in the country.

According to him, the solution to the problem of Igbo people in Nigeria is the creation of a sovereign state.
