At 80 years, Joe Biden is the oldest American vying for re-election as president of the United States in 2024 after he announced his bid on Tuesday.

By his age, he is already the oldest US President in history and if he wins the 2024 presidency, he will be 82 on swearing-in.

Born on 20 November, 1942 Biden is an American politician who is the 46th and current president of the United States. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017 under President Barack Obama and represented Delaware in the United States Senate from 1973 to 2009.

Biden has announced his bid for re-election in 2024, saying he has unfinished job to complete.

Biden, in a video on Tuesday said every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy.

“To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours. That’s why I’m running for reelection as President of the United States. Join us. Let’s finish the job,” he said.
