Wike unveils 220 members of Rivers Govt. Inauguration Committee

Governor Nyesom Wike has unveiled 220 members of inauguration committee to prepare for a smooth handover to the incoming government of Siminalayi Fubara on 29 May.

According to Wike who conducted the swearing-in at the Government House on Saturday, “The inauguration committee is not a party committee, it’s inauguration of Governor and Deputy Governor that will serve the interest of Rivers State. It is a Rivers State affair.

He admonished members of the committee who consists of all shades of opinion and diverse background that it was a call to responsibility to serve the people of Rivers State to make the state proud.

“Members of the committee were sworn-in today by the Governor at the Government House, Port Harcourt. Members are to prepare and ensure a successful swearing-in ceremony for the Governor-elect of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, come May 29, 2023”.

The inauguration committee has the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo as Chairman, while the State PDP Chairman, Ambassador Desmond Akawor is the Alternate Chairman. The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Research and Documentation, Dr. A. J. Beredugo serves as Secretary.

Among those sworn in include: Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke, Spokesman PDP Campaign council, Mrs Ibim Semenitari former Managing Director, Nigeria Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chris Finebone, Commissioner for Information and Communications, among others.
