Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has congratulated the British monarch, King Charles III, on his coronation.
His felicitations are contained in a statement posted on his verified Twitter page.
The former vice president noted that Saturday, May 6, 2023, marked the start of a new chapter in the history of the United Kingdom.
“I extend my warmest congratulations to His Majesty King Charles III on the momentous occasion of his coronation. Today marks a new chapter in the rich history of the United Kingdom as it ushers in a new era under the leadership of King Charles III.
“We celebrate the longstanding friendship and partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, and we look forward to further strengthening the ties that bind our two nations. Our shared commitment to democracy, human rights, and sustainable development provides a solid foundation for mutual growth and prosperity.
