Gov. Oyebanji, Ekiti senators declare support for Akpabio

Governor Biodun Oyebanji has assured Senator Godswill Akpabio and his team of the commitment of Ekiti APC Senators to adhere to the party’s directives in the choice of the new Senate President and other principal offices.

Governor Oyebanji gave the assurance on Monday during a meeting with Akpabio.

The meeting was attended by the three elected senators from Ekiti State- Bamidele Opeyemi, Cyril Fasuyi, and Yemi Adaramodu.

The Governor also attested to Senator Akpabio’s leadership qualities and public service experience, which he believes will be invaluable in advancing the party’s agenda in the Senate.

The APC had on Monday ratified the zoning formula proposed by the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, ignoring protests by aggrieved members of the party on the lopsidedness of the arrangement.

According to the zoning formula, Akpabio is favoured to be the President of the 10th National Assembly.
