“We need to obey the rule of constitutionalism,” Agbakoba stated.

There have been moves to scuttle the swearing-in of Tinubu as president on 29 May by unscrupulous individuals, who have gone to court to stop the process.

Tinubu emerged winner of the February 25 presidential election in Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria.

He defeated the likes of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), among several others.

Since he won the presidential election, main opposition parties have been trying to discredit his victory, with some of them making inciting comments against his victory.
