Manchester City on Wednesday demolished defending champions, Real Madrid 4-0 to qualify for Champions League final.

City defeated Madrid 4-0 in the second leg semi-final at the Etihad Stadium and qualified for the final on 5-1 aggregate.

The English side will now play Inter Milan in the final in Istanbul, Turkey.

Bernardo Silva was the hero of the day as he grabbed a brace in the encounter.

City opened scoring on 23 minutes. Kevin De Bruyne displayed great vision and sent a pass to Silva, who showed brilliant composure inside the box to bury the ball inside the right post.

Toni Kroos, on 35 minutes received a fine pass and tried his luck from long range. His attempt went towards the top of the net, but Ederson pulled off a great save to push the ball onto the bar.

Silva doubled for City on 37 minutes as the homers dominated the first half. After a few rebounds, the ball found its way to Silva, who was quickest and placed it inside the right post.

On 51 minutes, David Alaba stood over the free kick and opted to take it himself, sending it towards the top of net only for Ederson to dive and made a save.

On 73 minutes Erling Haaland received a precise pass deep in the box. He ripped a snap shot and the ball bounced off the goalkeeper’s gloves and hit the post.

An own-goal gave City a 3-0 lead on 76 minutes. A free kick was whipped in and the ball hit Eder Militao, who found the back of his own net.

On added time, City made it 4-0. A great through ball by Phil Foden set up Julian Alvarez inside the box, and he made no mistake and banged the ball into the bottom left corner.
