Composure by Issavybe Lingers Where Memories of Love Refuse to Die

The complexity of some songs is admirable, especially songs that are capable of expressing deep feelings with lesser lyrics, easy flow of instrumental in a very brisk duration. Issavybe’s Composure is a typical example of this notion, a work of art that went beyond the norms with his quick rhythm and flow. Composure by Issavybe was released on May 17, 2023, a song that reveals the scar of the artiste’s heartbreak, the search for reasons why his lover wanted them to end their love story all of a sudden as she urges him to fall out of their love sojourn. A feeling of abandonment creeps in, especially in the moment where everything seems to be going fine but unaware of the sudden twist.

Issavybe on Composure, opens with a subtle piano instrumental that plays deep for the listener to understand the mood the song is about to drift into. A melancholic sound that questions the soul the moment it soars into the ambience. Issavybe didn’t waste time to pattern or segment the track into short or long verses or hooks, he wanted to deliver his message in a very brief moment which he was able to do in Composure.

The lyrics open with touches of deep pain that originates  from a love that almost seems genuine and eternal, until it couldn’t stay longer than expected. The listeners could immediately feel the pain throbbing in his heart because of the emotions flowing out his voice. He serenades about the tales of his lovebird who once assured him of how strong their entanglement was and she had found in their love, the kind she craved for, the longing she ever wanted, she assured him of their feelings as a mutual one until she took a turn on her claim and decided to let things loose by seeking to end things without any major reason, this had left the artiste, Issavybe, with a  fractured heart. Issavybe wasn’t having it, because it confused him, he had to express his broken feelings in Composure.

In the ending lyrics of Composure, Issavybe sings and drifts out with /I lost my composure since we broke up/ . He confesses his inability to be strong and forget about her after she abandoned him, he became unstable emotionally. The last line indicates how strong Issavybe’s love and attachment was towards his lover who made a sudden exit out of their love journey.

Composure is more than a song of fractured feelings, it is a song that speaks of the artiste’s lost love. Things love does to one, especially to a man who thinks he can do without love and move on with life after his lover decides to stop their entanglement. Issavybe on Composure shows our weaknesses when it comes to love. He sings about his yearning,  questions his lover’s sudden decision and quiet exit. Composure with no doubt is a simple work of art that came out huge as it tells the story of hearts and emotions. The melancholic piano flow and rhythm, the sonority in Issavybe’s voice, the calmness of the song ambience throughout, the brisk lyrics, and song duration have made the song a true masterpiece that deserves a repeated listening. A song that informs the heart of its flaws, a song that sends broken butterflies into the listener’s mind. Composure is a song that leaves you in the dissonance of healing and loving.
