Bimbo Ademoye defeats Mercy Johnson, Funke Akindele at AMVCA

Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye has beaten heavyweights, Mercy Johnson, Funke Akindele and others to win the ‘Best Actress in a Comedy/ TV Series award at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA).

Ademoye won the award in her role in ‘Selina’ comedy series, defeating Akindele and Johnson whose roles in ‘Battle on Buga Street’ were not enough to grab the award. Johnson’s role in the ‘Passport’ was also not enough.

Reacting to her award, Ademoye said “to everyone who stood up for me, stood out for me and showed up for me, I am eternally grateful.

“To my most amazing online community, I don’t know how you all became my family, but I love it. Thank you all for always standing by me and for always rooting for me.”

In the ‘Best Movie West Africa’, award, Brotherhood by Jade Osiberu emerged the winner, while Efe Irele also emerged winner in the “Best Supporting Actress in Drama, Movie, or TV Series.’

Dynamic Duo Kiekie and Elozonam emerged winners of the the ‘Best Online Social Content Creator’ award, while Loukman Ali for Brotherhood won the award for the ‘Best Cinematography’ and won a prize of N1 million and the latest CAMON 20 Premier 5G smartphone.

The AMVCA for ‘Best Supporting Actor (Movie/TV Series)’ goes to Abdisattar Ahmed.
