Japan beat Senegal in opening match

Africa’s champions, Senegal have lost their opening match at the ongoing Under-20 World Cup in Argentina, to Japan.

Playing in Group C, Senegal lost 0-1 to Japan to remain third in the group after Colombia beat Israel 2-1 to top the group.

The Asian side opened scoring on 15 minutes and held on till the end.

Senegal pulled one back on 21 minutes but it was ruled out after VAR’s review. Samba Diallo had pounced on a loose ball inside the box and beat the goalkeeper with a low shot into the middle of the net.
On 73 minutes, Mame Faye squandered a huge opportunity from inside the 6-yard box. He blazed it high over the bar.
Four minutes later, Ibrahima Seck found space inside the box but rifled his effort just wide of the left post.
