Newcastle FC qualified for the Champions League for the first time since 2003 after a goalless draw with Leicester City on Monday.

The club, which has been on a terrific run this season, has been rewarded for their efforts by qualifying for the European Cup next season.

Newcastle last finished in the top four in May 2002, under Sir Bobby Robson. And it has been 11 years since they last qualified for Europe, coming fifth in 2012 under Alan Pardew.

It caps off a stunning comeback after Mike Ashley sold out to the Saudi PIF and Amanda Staveley’s consortium in October 2021.
