”I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience, leadership skills, and commitment to the service of the people to bear in this new role,” the speaker said.

Abdulrazaq emerged new chairman of the NGF by consensus at a closed-door meeting of the Governors which was held in Abuja on Tuesday.

He succeeds the outgoing governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, who became the forum’s chairman in 2022.

The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi was the substantive Chairman of the NGF until his second term in office came to an end in 2022, paving the way for Tambuwal who was his deputy to succeed him.
