Adekunle Gold releases mini EP 'Tio Tequila'

Nigerian music sensation, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, professionally known as Adekunle Gold and AG Baby, has released the much anticipated extended play (EP) ‘Tio Tequila’.

The three-track collection arrives ahead of his Def Jam debut, which is set to drop in July.

Adekunle Gold announced the long-awaited release of the EP on his Instagram page in the early hours of Thursday with a simple yet striking message: “‘Tio Tequila’ is out now!”

‘Tio Tequila’ features his previously released “Party No Dey Stop” with Zinoleesky as well as two new singles, “Do You Mind” and “Omo Eko.”

It is his first project under the prestigious label Def Jam Recordings, which is part of the prestigious Universal Music Group (UMG).

The summer-ready tracks incorporate Afrobeats, R&B, and amapiano and were created by fellow Nigerian record producer and GRAMMY winner Kel-P.

Speaking with The FADER, AG Baby said, “‘Tio Tequila’ is a metaphor for where I’m at in life right now. I’m happy and I just want to celebrate my wins and we should all feel the same.

“The three songs are a taster for what’s to come on my next album; they’re uplifting and will get you in the mood to party.”

‘Tio Tequila’ was released on May 25 and it’s available for streaming on all platforms.
