Sanwo-Olu's inauguration: Lagos declares May 29 Work-free day for workers

The Lagos State Government has declared Monday, May 29 as work-free day for all civil servants in the State to be able to attend the inauguration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for second term.

A circular issued by the Head of Service (HOS), Hakeem Muri-Okunola on Friday said the work-free day would ensure participation of  public servants at the inauguration ceremony.

He urged permanent secretaries and heads of parastatals and others to mobilise their workers to attend the inauguration ceremony.

The HOS added that the inauguration ceremony would take place at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan by 9.00am.

The circular reads: “It is hereby notified for general information that the Inauguration Ceremony of the 16th Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Governor, Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu is scheduled to hold on Monday, 29th May 2023.

“To this end, please note that Monday, 29th May 2023 would be observed as a Work Free Day to ensure participation of State’s Public Servants at the Inauguration Ceremony.

“Accordingly, Permanent Secretaries/ Heads of Parastatals/Extra-Ministerial Agencies and Directors Administration and Human Resource are to mobilize Officers to attend the event which is scheduled to commence at 9.00am at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos.

“Kindly ensure that this Circular is given the deserved Service-wide publicity.”
