The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of Murtala Mohammed Way and Apapa Road in Oyingbo beginning from today, Saturday, May 27.

The closure of the roads will last till Friday, 30 June, 2023, said Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation in a statement.

The government said the closure was in continuity of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit, Red Line Project.

According to Toriola, some routes had been mapped out to minimize inconvenience of motorists and commuters.

In the travel advisory, traffic on Murtala Mohammed Way will be diverted from Abeokuta Street to link Borno Way through Coasts Street and back to Murtala Mohammed Way.

Alternatively, Toriola said Cementry Street would be open to traffic from Abeokuta Street.

“LASTMA officials will be deployed to the affected areas to manage traffic flow.

“Citizens are enjoined to cooperate with the traffic Personnel and the interventions provided by the State Government to minimize inconveniences,” he said.
