The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has initiated a system, Fast Track 2.0 (FT 2.0), to reward traders that comply with its rules and regulations.
This is contained in a statement by the Customs National Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Abdullah Maiwada on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the FT 2.0 was initiated in collaboration with the World Bank under the Accelerating Revenue Mobilisation Reforms Programme (ARMOR).
Maiwada said the F.T 2.0 system was initiated to ensure migration from Fast Track Regime, adding that the F.T 2.0 was more efficient.
“One of the main advantages is the potential for significant cost reductions associated with cargo handling and demurrage at the ports.
“This system aims to reward compliance and facilitate trade by admitting traders based on their adherence to regulations and contribution to trade in Nigeria.
“By introducing Fast Track 2.0, the Nigeria Customs Service aims to streamline trade processes, promote compliance, and create a more efficient and rewarding environment for traders,” he said.
The customs spokeperson said traders, who, were interested in taking advantage of the facility could visit the website, www.fasttrack.nigeriatradehub.gov.ng.
He said traders using the old Fast Track system were advised to apply to the new Fast Track 2.0 (FT 2.0).(NAN
