Kano state Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has revoked the “sales” of Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital and the Governor’s Lodge allegedly by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Governor Yusuf popularly known as Abba Gida-Gida, said the move was, “in continuation of recouping public properties that was illegally sold by the immediate past administration in the state.”

A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa noted that the revocation was, “with the immediate effect.”

The statement frowned at the immediate-past administration of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for, “the sales of Hasiya Bayero Paediatric hospital and the governor’s lodge located at Kwankwasiyya city.”

Bature added that: “The Governor has directed for the immediate renovation of the health facility and revert to its operations as a specialist hospital that cater for the medical needs of hundreds of thousands of children from the state and beyond.

“The Governor who led a delegation of top government officials on inspection to the two revoked sites expressed displeasure on how the past government sold the places to their cabals for their selfish interest.

“As promised during electioneering processions, we will not relent in reclaiming public properties either mismanaged or sold via shoddy deal and what was reclaimed would be judiciously utilized for the benefit of people of the state.

“I am at this juncture announcing the revoking of the sales of Hasiya Bayero Paediatric hospital and the Governor’s lodge at Kwankwasiyya city that is hosting the office of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the health facility should be renovated and revert to its operations of health care delivery to children” emphasized the Governor.”

Meanwhile, Abba Gida-Gida has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to rid the state of criminals who have been disturbing people of the state and ensure that people are conducting their daily businesses without fear.

The Governor stated this when he visited the state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC).

He witnessed the parading of multiple number of criminals who were arrested by men of the command with the display of various weapons and items confiscated from them.

According to Governor Yusuf: “The state Command of NSCDC has to take you to the court of law and after the prescribed jail terms, those of you who repent and show sense of remorse, will be rehabilitated and re-integrated into the society and would be empowered for self reliance.

“Our government will not condone immorality of any kind From our youth as we will not relent in taking necessary measures on any one found wanting for the continuous peace and stability in the state.”

In his address, the state commandant of the NSCDC, Muhammad Lawan Falala said the 19 suspects paraded were arrested for various offences ranging from phone snatching, vandalisation, stealing, among others.

The NSCDC boss maintained that the suspects will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
