Gunmen on Wednesday abducted a seven-year-old girl in Yangoji village, Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Mr. Suleiman Musa, a resident of the community, said the terrorists stormed the settlement in the early hours of Wednesday.

He claimed the hoodlums stormed the village, shooting multiple rounds before smashing into some houses and kidnapping the seven-year-old daughter.

According to him, the timely intervention of a police unit prompted the shooters to flee the village.

At about 5 a.m. on Wednesday, the Kwali Divisional Police Headquarters reacted to a distress call regarding the attack.

According to a source, the quick response of police officers, hunters, and vigilantes led by the Kwali Divisional Police Officer (DPO) rescued the community from further harm from the shooters.

He claimed that the hoodlums engaged in a gun duel with the security crew before fleeing with the kidnapped girl.

According to the source, the security force is currently combing the area with the goal of rescuing the child and apprehending the shooters.

When reached, SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said she was yet to be briefed about the incident.
