Former governor Nyesom Wike on Friday urged local government chairpersons in Rivers State to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his sucessor, Siminilayi Fubara.

Wike spoke when he received chairpersons from the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State led by the Mayor of Port Harcourt Hon Allwell Ihunda who were on a courtesy visit to his country home in Rumuepirikom, Port Harcourt.

The former governor said unlike the former administration, the Federal Government led by Tinubu will not be hostile, but friendly to Rivers State.

He added that President Tinubu has always been friendly to the State.

Wike also called on Local Government Chairmen to put in their best and see their position as an avenue to serve their people.

The former governor who credited some of the success he achieved in office to the support he got from the different Local Governments urged them to also give Governor Siminalayi Fubara their unalloyed loyalty and support.

Speaking during the visit, he leader of the delegation and Mayor of Port Harcourt, Hon Allwell Ihunda acknowledged Wike’s impact on the state and its people.

He explained that the visit was at the instance of the Chairmen to appreciate Wike for his outstanding success in office and to affirm their political loyalty and commitment to his direction.
