The All Progressives Congress (APC), United States of America Chapter, has felicitated Nigeria and its people on the occasion of Democracy Day, which is celebrated every year on June 12.

Prof. Tai Balofin, the chairman of the party chapter, stated this in a statement issued on Monday.

According to him, Nigerians should continue to find strength through Chief M.K.O. Abiola’s legacy, the man who won Nigeria’s freest and fairest election on June 12, 1993.

“Today, as we gather to celebrate Democracy Day, we are reminded of the remarkable journey our nation has undertaken. June 12, 2023 marks a significant milestone of 30 years since the historic 1993 presidential elections, which have become synonymous with the struggle for democracy and the pursuit of justice.

“On this auspicious occasion, we come together to honour the memory of Chief M.K.O. Abiola, GCFR, one of our national heroes for democracy.

“His unwavering commitment to democratic ideals and his ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire us today. Through his legacy, we find the strength and determination to forge ahead, ensuring a peaceful and harmonious transition.
