When she left home that fateful day to travel to Enugu for her traditional marriage, Miss Esther Chigozie Ihebunnadu, was beaming with hope, but she never knew she had embarked on a journey of no return.

She died in a ghastly motor accident on her way to Enugu from Delta State, along with her chief bridesmaid a day to her traditional marriage, which was supposed to be 23 June, 2023.

She was engaged in fatal accident on Wednesday, 21 June, 2023 and died the following day.

The beautiful Deeper Life woman was supposed to wed her heartthrob, Ikechukwu Gideo Obika at the Deeper Life Bible Church, Obada Road, Agbarho, Delta State on 8 July, 2023.

The entire Deeper Life fateful in her region in Delta State and friends are mourning the tragic demise of Ihebunnadu and her chief bridesmaid a day to her traditional marriage.

Rabi Egunjobi, a Facebook user posted the photo and wedding card of the deceased on her wall and wrote: “I just realized this beautiful sister was my connection here, and I learned she got involved in a horrible auto accident that claimed her life and that of her chief bridesmaid. Her traditional marriage was scheduled to take place today, June 23rd.

Ihebunnadu graduated from Delta State University and went to Classical International School, Effurn, Delta State.
Her friends are mourning her on her Facebook wall.

Elizabeth Caleb-Kuye wrote: “I missed your call the day you passed on, called you back but received the shocking news of my life. My baby girl, I’m still in tears, mum is finding it hard to take in but we know you are in a better place now. Keep resting in the bosom of your Lord.”

Anthony Isioma Pius wrote: “It is well… the family and the church here needs prayer. It was a shock to all the brethren here. God delivered so many families with their whole family in the bus carrying them for the traditional marriage. Those who survive needs perfect healing… let’s pray for them.”

Udoka Ogobuchi-odo added: “About 2 of my Facebook friends made posts on her demise. It was just a few minutes ago that my daughter told me the story. The accident happened right here in Enugu State where I live. I don’t know her but it is so painful. May her soul rest in peace.”

The deceased was an orphan, with her mother dying four years ago. She had revealed this in a Facebook post on 22 May, 2023 to mark her mother’s posthumous birthday.

She had written: “Happy Posthumous Birthday Mum. It’s been 4years since I last held your hands. There is never a day that goes by without your thoughts. You were a perfect definition of a VIRTUOUS WOMAN.

“I remember how you would parcel food stuffs to me in school with money inside the rice, beans or garri. And how you would stop at my school gate when returning from onitsha to drop some yams for me.
“How I missed buying you gifts when I return from school for holidays with my result attached to the gift.
Thank you for raising me (us) in the way of the Lord, though we thought you were just being strict but we sincerely understand better now.
“You raised me (us) up so well with prayers, love, discipline and of course the “rod”. Your last days on earth was filled with so much prayers for me, you kept on blessing and praying for me. You even prayed for my marriage .
