Homeland School was the star of the 2023 St. Lawrence Quiz and Debate Competition held in the School’s hall at Ajasa-Command, Lagos on Tuesday.
The competition was in four categories: Debate (with the theme, Parents are responsible for students’ failure); Mathematics quiz competition; Spelling bee, and Poem presentation.
The very engaging and exciting event which commenced at about 10:30 am and ended at 1:30 pm saw winners of 1st to 3rd positions in all the categories going home with prizes.
Winners of prizes at the event include Homeland School, St. Lawrence Greater Height School (Organizers of the competition), Crowndeal School, and the Meilleur Best School.
Homeland impressively swept the golden prize of the first position in three out of the four categories of the competition- 1st Position in Maths, Debate and Poem presentation.
The host School, St. Lawrence took the first position in the Spelling bee and second position in all the remaining three categories.
Meilleur Best garnered second position in the Spelling bee and third position in Maths and Debate while Crowndeal went home with the 3rd Position prize in Poem presentation.
The head of the panel of Judges commended St. Lawrence School for the great initiative and thanked the participating schools for allowing their pupils to benefit from the lofty programme.
