The corpse of Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Okorodudu, who won a gold medal at the Oluyole 1979 National Sports Festival in Ibadan, was seized by the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

The corpse was not released due to outstanding N600,000 medical bill.

Okorodudu’s wife, Adenike, confirmed the development on Wednesday.

“He is dead now but we still need to pay N600,000 to get his body out of the hospital,” Adenike told The PUNCH.

Jerry died on Wednesday at age 64.
