Actors' Guild partners NPF to stop cybercrime, scams

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has partnered with the Nigerian Police National Cybercrime Centre to reduce and ultimately end the cybercrime, romance scams.

Chief Emeka Rollas, AGN’s National President, disclosed the partnership in an Instagram post on Sunday.

He explained that some members might face embarrassments in the hands of Interpol, FBI for crimes they are innocent of, hence the partnership.

“The rise of cybercrime romance scams using faces of some of our male actors to defraud unsuspecting old and young ladies globally led me to seek partnership with the Inspector General of Police through the Nigeria Police National Cybercrime centre.

“Its so scary what scammers do with the fake accounts of many male Actors. I became worried because soon our members will begin to face embarrassments in the hands of Interpol, FBI etc. for crimes they didn’t commit.
