Fifteen people have died as a 24-passenger commercial bus collided with a truck on Lagos-Badagry expressway on Sunday.

Nine others were said to have been injured in the fatal crash.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said the accident occurred at Agemuwo bus stop.

He said the accident happened between a truck and a 24 passengers Commercial bus during the heavy rain down pour.

Oke-Osanyintolu stated that the bus driver was said to be on a high speed and driving recklessly when it lost control and ran into an oncoming truck.

He confirmed that 14 of the 24 passengers, including the bus driver died on the spot, while one out of the nine injured later died.

In his words: “The bus driver was said to be on a high speed and driving recklessly lost control and ran into an oncoming truck.

“Fourteen (14) out of the 24 passengers including the bus driver was confirmed dead on spot, 9 critically injured and all taken to General Hospital Badagry.

“Further information revealed, one out of the injured 9 was also confirmed dead at the Hospital

“All corpses have been deposited at the Hospital Morgue while the 8 survival are receiving treatment at the hospital intensive care unit.

“Both accidented vehicles have been cleared off the road and taken the Police Station
