Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, said he will be disappointed if President Bola Tinubu fails to reward Nyesom Wike and other members of the G5.

Fayose stated this on Monday while drumming support for a ministerial appointment for Wike.

The former Ekiti Governor noted that Nigeria needs an “average bad person”, adding that Wike has the capacity to serve.

When asked by Channels TV what he thinks about the possibility of Wike being tapped by President Tinubu, Fayose said: “What is wrong with that. How is anybody affected by that.

“I do not want to be minister but if Asiwaju says Fayose come and be a minister and I agree, what is their headache. During Abacha’s regime about four members of Afenifere joined the Abacha’s government. Are we not talking Nigeria? Is it meant for only one person? I want Wike to be in Cabinet. Wike has what it takes to serve Nigeria. Wike is an articulate capacity person. Nigeria needs average bad person o, I support Wike if Asiwaju finds him worthy of being appointed or any of the G5 worthy.

“I will be disappointed if Asiwaju does not equally appreciate them for what they stand to represent. No apologies for that, Wike must serve. Wike is still a young man, I am his senior brother.”

Fayose also rubbished speculations that members of the G5 will decamp to the All Progressives Congress.

The former Ekiti Governor noted that the reports of decamping are far from the truth.

“The former Governor of Benue is the oldest, at his age, if he is still decamping, his children must disown him. The Wike I know, I can sleep and write about Wike o. Forget that Wike will leave PDP, tell PDP leadership to put their house in order.”
