Fabiyi shared a video on his Instagram page on Wednesday featuring an expert advising the public on the importance of hiring legal representation before making any statements to the police, the impact such statements can have on a judge’s verdict, stressing the need for individuals to take their time and exercise caution before providing any written statements.

“Valid points. Do NOT forget that “CONFESSIONAL STATEMENT” alone is enough for the judge to give a verdict, hence it is very sensitive and crucial. You must take your time before writing anything. It is, however, evil, unprofessional, and criminal for any police or law enforcement officer to scream, force, or torture any suspect into writing or giving a confessional statement. As people and society, we must also be willing to protect and fight for whoever is voiceless or powerless in this instance. Know your rights and defend them with your everything,” he said in the post.
