Internationally acclaimed singer Wizkid has been notably excluded from the nominees list of the 16th edition of the Headies Awards.

This marks the first time in 13 years that the Grammy-winning artiste has not received a nomination from the Headies.

Wizkid, who has been a consistent force in the Nigerian music industry and a favorite among fans, has amassed an impressive collection of 20 Headies Awards throughout his career. His absence from this year’s nominees list has left fans and industry insiders speculating about the reasons behind this unexpected snub.

Although the specific cause for his exclusion remains unclear, several speculations have emerged within the music community. Some speculated that Wizkid’s latest album, “More Love, Less Ego,” which was released in 2022 to critical acclaim and commercial success, might not have been submitted for consideration. Others believe that the Headies committee might have determined that his body of work this year did not meet their nomination criteria.
